Dr Shi was awarded a first class honours BSc degree and subsequently a first class honours MSc degree at Fudan University, one of the top five universities in China. He went on to obtain a PhD in Numerical Mathematics at Technische Universität Berlin, 1st in Germany in Mathematics according to QS World University Rankings (2013).
Dr Shi has taught a wide range of modules to undergraduates and postgraduates of all levels for more than 7 years at the South China Normal University (SCNU). He has also supervised undergraduates and postgraduates writing their BSc and MSc degree theses at SCNU. As a group leader in teaching mathematics related modules for mathematicians, economists, physicians and engineers, Dr Shi has been engaged to coordinate the module work of other teachers and to design and develop teaching methods, curriculum and exam papers. During his years of teaching, Dr Shi has received constantly high student satisfaction with regard to his teaching quality with an average evaluation score being more than 90%.
Since 2014, Dr Shi has focused on Maths teaching in the British Education System. He is hugely popular among our students.
